What is Podcasting?

Podcasting is simply a method of delivering and/or receiving fresh content in MP3 (audio) and MP4 (video) format from web sites that offer audio or video content. Users install a Podcast client program on their local computer and then subscribe to Podcast 'feeds' found at web sites offering audio or video content. The Podcast client checks the feeds on a regular basis for new content, and when new content is made available it is downloaded to the user's computer automatically.

For example, a user who subscribes to the Abbeyfield Community Church Podcasts will automatically receive our content delivered to their Podcast client whenever we post new audio or video content.
